The Explorer program is a co-ed program used to introduce young people (14-20) to the exciting world of Emergency Medical Services. Gold Cross EMS Becomes First Ambulance Service in the area Accredited
Gold Cross EMS has received accreditation from the Commission on Accreditation of Ambulance Services for its compliance with national standards of excellence. Gold Cross EMS became only the 7th ambulance service out of over 260 in the state of Georgia to successfully complete the review process which included completion of a comprehensive application and on-site review by national experts in emergency medical services (EMS).
Gold Cross EMS activated the Disaster Response Team yesterday morning and has continued operations over the last 24 hours. A total of 22 crew have taken place in evacuation efforts in preparation of Hurricane Matthew.
Gold Cross EMS has been approved as an Emergency Medical Dispatch Center of Excellence on 9/22/2016 by the Board of Accreditation of the International Academies of Emergency Dispatch (IAED). Therefore, Gold Cross EMS earned the distinguished honor of becoming the 222nd Emergency Medical Dispatch Accredited Center in the world, and only the 6th in the state of Georgia out of hundreds of dispatch centers.
